about

The Kroeker Homeschool Academy teaches many exciting classical Junior High and High School subjects including Latin, literature, writing and government/economics. Mrs. Kroeker uses a variety of learning methods to allow students to gain maximum experience with minimum difficulty. Along the way, students will learn notetaking, diagramming, analysis, paper-writing, and a host of other vital skills. In Mrs. Kroeker's classes, real learning takes place. The atmosphere of the home-based classroom is relaxed and enjoyable, so that students are confident while learning traditionally difficult subjects.

And don't worry, your student will be doing the big stuff, too! Throughout the class year, students will write a variety of papers, and they will be tested according to the subject they are learning. These include everything from oral quizzes to spelling tests to the National Latin Exam!

Of course, one of the main focuses at the academy is reading. Students will read works of literature that have been treasured for ages, which will benefit them for the rest of their lives. Writing is also emphasized in a wide variety of ways in all subjects from English to Economics.

Classes meet one day per week, with homework sheets given to direct work during the other weekdays. Kroeker Homeschool Academy meets for 34 weeks, from Labor Day through Memorial Day. Classes begin fall 2011, so call or e-mail to receive your registration forms for KHA's tenth year!
